Hello, kids. It's about an hour and a half until tonight's episode starts for people in the US's EST. It's episode 1x05, and it's called You Don't Know Jack. Let us all take a moment to pray for more Carly than last week.
Moment of silence over . . . everybody talk lots, and have fun!

Dude, I think you made my brain melt...
I'm torn about Holt. I mean, I don't have huge reserves of affection for him, but I can sympathize with what he did. And I don't blame him entirely for Julia's situation; she's made a lot of her own bed.
I just wanted to comment and say that I meant he's the reason she was knocked out of commission for a while. He was like insane when he flipped his car and she didn't know what was going on.
The drugs and her slutty ways are of her own doing. But it's hard to be a crackwhore, yo!
Anyway, my point with Holt . . . there are no real sympathetic characters on this show, except, maybe, for Don, who's kind of an innocent. But everyone else . . . you can't really root for them. You don't necessarily want them to fail, but they're not nice people, and they're doing bad things for selfish reasons, so when they do get their comeuppance, it seems justified.
It's definitely a show that you love to hate everyone. But that's what makes it fun. Like I find myself rooting for them to do the bad things. I know that's a little twisted, but I'm just like that. I love bad guys and this is a show all about bad guys.
I know a lot of people that don't feel as strongly about Carly as most of us are complaining about her seducing people with drugs. The drugs don't really bother me (well except that needle thing last night. I wasn't loving that). I guess I'm kind of used to seeing her in druggie roles.
I agree. Men are so gross. I feel sorry for Prince Tyrese, however, and I think that they showed just a little bit more than they needed to. That was excessive.
Men are gross. I couldn't even watch that part with Prince Tyrese. I turned away, but just hearing what was happening was more than enough.
p.s. Lovin the icon...mind if I snag?

I'm not saying Holt's not done anything wrong, because he's built up a whole lot of bad. But Julia then, in turn, made much the worst possible turns she could at every crossroads. Except for the having sex with Garbo thing. Because that is awesome.

Well, objectively, yes. What Garbo is doing is wrong, but it's much less wrong than what most of the other characters are doing; she's not raping them; they're willing accomplices. And it's easy to see where she's coming from: she's on the speed dial of every big Hollywood star; she knows everybody, but she has to keep hidden. Everybody needs her, calls her at all times of the day and night, and just expects her to be there . . . it's only natural that they should give her a little something in return.
That said: it's still wrong.
And, yeah, she does seem to play the druggie a bit, no?

Birth of the cool? Go for it. I've only made, like, four Garbo icons, but that one was okay enough to make it into rotation. Enjoy.
